Hi, I'm Lea...

...And just a few short years ago, I remember reluctantly stepping on a scale, with my hands covering my eyes, peeking through my fingers and feeling my heart sink in my chest...

...Not just because of the number I saw, but because that number represented something I didn't want to admit I had feared even more...

..."I truly felt as if I had lost control of my own body." Like I was a helpless spectator to my own life...

Fast-forward to today...

...Today, I help over-burdened moms who are stretched to their limits, reclaim their bodies and feel proud of how they look - without having to spend all day at the gym or 10 hours prepping meals they barely even want to eat.

How did i, even get here?

My fitness journey didn’t start because I was confident, motivated, or had everything figured out...

...It started because I felt like I had lost myself.

For years, I watched my body slowly change into someone I was secretly not happy with... Clothes that used to fit, didn’t fit anymore. Shopping became very stressful. I had long stopped choosing outfits based on what made me feel good, and started choosing whatever disguised my weight the most.

Then 2020 rolled around, COVID hit and everything got worse.

Being stuck at home and living in a small town heightened the feeling of isolation. Stress mounted and my mental state plummeted. Depression was accompanied with a coping plan that centered around food and alcohol. If I was bored, sad, overwhelmed, or didn’t know what to do with myself, I would eat or drink.

Not because I didn’t care — but because any willpower I could muster up, only lasted a couple days before I found myself right back into a cycle I couldn't seem to escape.

But little did I know I was about to hit a breaking point that would trigger a real change...

the picture that brought tears to my eyes...

It was summer for 2020...

My husband and I had planned a beach day, and because I knew there'd be lighter crowds at the beach (due to COVID) I was finally able to talk myself into wearing a 2-piece bikini I had bought as few weeks earlier.

While the day was fun, I remember being self-conscious the entire day. I gave myself as much positive self talk as I could, but it wasn't till I later saw the pictures we took that the realization hit me...

I had gone past anything I had ever weighed before...

Tipping the scale at 180 lbs, I remember tearing up and thinking, “How did I let myself get here?”

...It wasn’t just the weight either.

It was the fact that I didn’t feel good in my body. I didn’t feel confident... I didn’t feel like I knew the person I was looking at in the mirror.

So I tried to fix it the way most women do.

  • ...I searched online.

  • ...I bought cookie-cutter programs.

  • ...I saved and tried dozens of random workouts...

  • ...I routinely downloaded meal plans and "got serious"...

But the motivation would last no longer than a week or two because every day I excitedly checked the scale only to see no little to no progress, a tiny bit of hope died.

I felt like I was putting in all this effort, doing all the right things, but the rewards weren't coming.

Three weeks in, I'd find myself thinking, "What's the use?", resorting to comfort eating, feeling guilty and promising myself to start fresh next week...

Start... Stop... Start... Stop...

The frustrating cycle of motivation -> little to no results -> binge eating -> guilt, continued for months...

When I eventually realized that "healthy eating" on its own wasn't doing it, I went as far as investing thousands of dollars into building a full-stack home gym... I told myself it was for convenience. That having the equipment at home would solve the problem. Truth is, this was just another facade for someone who was scared...

Scared to seek help and accountability...

Scared to go to a gym and look "out of place"...

Scared to think that with every workout I'm getting judged as someone who doesn't belong.

Weeks, turned to months. The expensive home gym I had built started collecting dust, getting less and less use and so, the cycle continued...

Motivation -> little to no results -> binge eating -> guilt...

I had equipment, but no plan, diets that were too cumbersome, and a head full of 1,000 pieces of "Instagram Fitness" knowledge that I didn't know how to effectively piece together.

E - S = F?

Then one night after dinner...

...I'm sitting on the couch, having fully given in to the "post dinner munchies"...

...My favorite ice-cream perched at my side, doom-scrolling Instagram with my other hand and I happened to stumble across a single 90-second clip that it turns out - I needed to see. It was a life coach named Gabby and one single sentence she said, unlocked the moment of clarity I was missing!

It still rings in my ears today. Here's what she said...

Effort Minus Structure Equals Frustration...

"...Guys, it doesn't matter how hard you work, or how much effort you put in. If you're doing the wrong things in the wrong order, your progress is going to remain stalled!"

In one sentence it felt like someone had been watching me!

I was so caught up trying to avoid getting help, to avoid putting myself in what I felt was a vulnerable position... Trying to avoid admitting that all the articles and recipes and workout reels I was "saving on Instagram" were just a digital closet of mismatched, disorganized band-aids that I didn't know how to apply!

Within 48 hours of having that revelation I had found and hired a personal coach that was right for me...

Exactly 27 days later, I was five pounds lighter... (Something the "Old Lea" would have thought impossible.) But more importantly, now that I finally had a single clear path of action, and the accountability to keep on that path, my motivation soared...

My mind felt clear, my clothes fit better and my energy and excitement for a better life where I was in control of how I looked and felt went through the roof...

Day 94...

I still get goosebumps thinking about it...

I woke up and sprung out of bed with an excitement for life I thought I had long lost, rushing to the bathroom to hop on the scale... No longer were my hands covering my eyes.

My 100-day goal was to get below 150 lbs.

...As the numbers stopped scrolling I felt an explosion of pride in my chest...

…149.2 to be exact… And I hit it with ease in 94 days.

My eyes welled up, but this time those tears were welcomed. I knew right there and then that I had permanently changed the trajectory of my life and I truly felt superhuman.

Lea 2.0...

This was not just about the scale... In fact that was the least important thing...

The real wins were;

  • …Walking into a store and shopping for smaller jeans...

  • …Wearing a bikini without the anxiety of needing to hide in pictures…

  • …It was getting dressed for a Halloween party, standing in the mirror and realizing that I looked amazing.

The pride and joy of "feeling myself again" was worth ten times what the scale said. And it's that joy, excitement and self-love that lead to "StrongHer"...

My mission?

To empower 1,000 women to feel like I felt that day, because I know what it feels like to be stuck. I know what it feels like to start and stop, over and over again, each time losing a tiny bit more hope that this will ever work out for you and I know what it feels like to think "I should be able to figure it out on my own", but still come up short...

i now know what finally works...

..."Effort minus Structure = Frustration"...

If you're reading this, chances are that resonates with you and chances are you need a plan that fits your life. You need a structure you can stick to. You need a singular path that simplifies the 10,000 things that might work, into the exact 5 things that will work for YOU!

And you need accountability so you don’t keep quitting on yourself.

If you're tired of hiding, tired of guessing and tired of feeling like every failed attempt is proof you can’t do this, take a cue from my journey...

And now It's Your Turn!

It's time to write your story!

You don’t need to be perfect.

You don’t need to start over every Monday. And most of all you don't need to let fear and doubt stop you from taking action.

There is a whole new version of yourself, that is just waiting for the right structure, the right support, and the right "someone" who understands what it feels like to be where you are.

...And I'd love to help you unlock "YOU 2.0".
